Reds and Greys

A small number of Common Redpolls Carduelis flammea of the nominate subspecies flammea were hanging around the seed feeders at the Algonquin Visitor Centre. The buffier individuals, like the bird above, would appear to be first winters, whilst the greyer (and in one case, very much pinker!) birds would appear to be adults.

An adult male.

Adult, sex unknown.

Another adult.

Two typically tame Grey Jays found along the old railway bed off the Arowhon Road at Algonquin Park.
