Pine Grosbeaks at Algonquin
A weekend trip to Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario allowed me to finally see Pine Grosbeaks, after having heard many in recent weeks. Up to 22 of these beautiful finches were present at the Visitor Centre on Saturday 25th November, and the views were pretty good!..
Some examples of pink adult males and a duller adult female (told from 1st-winter birds by the rounded, rather than pointed, tail feathers) are shown here.
Adult Female - not as bright, but still good.
